MEASURE: A poster to teach the students how to save water through little ways.

HOW DOES IT REDUCE POLLUTION: Through engaging posters to inform the students to use little ways to save water, it allows the students to save water and not to pollute the water, which plays a very important part in their lives. Therefore, the students are taught to prevent water wastage and water pollution and they can play a little part to conserve water.

IS IT EFFECTIVE?: Yes, it is defintiely effective. This is as the poster is situated above the taps for the students to use. Thus, the students'attention can be caught by the poster and they will be informed of the ways to prevent both water pollution and water wastage, then they can put these knowledge into action by executing these ways to conserve water.

IMPROVEMENTS: We suggest that to improve the people getting to understand the ways to conserve water, the school can put more of these posters around the school compound where they can be easily seen and get people's attention. This helps to get more people to see the poster and understand how water is very precious and therefore they need to play a part to conserve it. All in all, through each student's part to save water and protect it from being polluted, the water will thus be clean and used wisely.

MEASURE: A filter in the water cooler to reuse the water from the water mains.

HOW DOES IT HELP TO REDUCE POLLUTION: The filter in the water cooler helps to reuse the water. But how does it do that? Firstly, when the person drinks water from the water cooler, some water will flow down the drain and this filter will filter the dirty water again, thus reusing it when it is provided from the water mains. Therefore, no matter if there is dirty water flowing down, there will always be clean water to be used again. Thus, there will be no water contamination and it is safe for human use.

IS IT EFFECTIVE? This measure is may not be very effective as in certain situations, some dirty remnants may flow down with the water to the filter, and it may not be filtered properly, therefore it may cause polluted water and it may not be suitable for people to use. This may lead to the students who previously used the water have poisoning or even serious cases. In addition, the filter may be old and not very useful in filtering the water, thus not making it very safe for the students to even consume the water or even for those who already consumed it, it may cause dire consequences.

IMPROVEMENTS: What can be improved to the water cooler is that the simple filter can be improved to a better one so that the water can be filtered properly or the drain holes can be made smaller so as to not allow the remnants to flow through so that the people consuming can have confidence in the water provided by the water cooler. Also, by replacing the filter regularly so that it will not have substances such as algae growing on it and that it does not get old and may not be able to function properly.

MEASURE: A project to take care of the Bukit Timah Canal.

HOW DOES IT HELP TO REDUCE POLLUTION: By including the schools which are situated nearby these canals, these schools help to take care of the various canals. This project allows the students to understand the conditions of these canals and thus putting in effort to take care of the water from rubbish disposed by the general public, which ends up they put their ideas to reduce pollution into action. Therefore, it prevents water pollution caused by litter and other reasons as well.

IS IT EFFECTIVE? : This project is truly effective as it benefits both the school and the PUB as well. The school can gain more knowledge and be informed of the water pollution in the canal and thus get into action to help clean the waters. To the PUB, they get help and cooperation from the school into making the water cleaner. In conclusion, it benefits in the entire body whereby the water in the water canal gets cleaner instead of being polluted by rubbish.

IMPROVEMENTS: The school can make signs to the public on the overheard bridge as that is where the public would easily throw their rubbish into the waters of the canal by informing them the pollution caused by them if they were to litter there. All in all, the public will get informed and thus not littering from the overhead bridge into the canal waters.
